The GLP-1 Economy & Medical Castes

I have a new article out in The Nation on the exploitation of GLP-1s by Trump, Big Pharma, and tech billionaires. It explains how they’re using it to create a permanent “medical caste system” of haves, have-nots, and people in between.

“This medical caste system could quickly worsen economic inequality. Studies have shown that groups with certain health problems consistently earn less and have more difficulty escaping poverty. Among them are women with obesity, people with mental illness, and the physically disabled.”
